FARM SOILS, WOODLANDS, WETLANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE

  • Farming soils are sensitive and require long recovery periods—pipeline construction will disrupt the lives of farmers
  • Fragile woodland and wetland ecosystems will be disturbed and will not recover—the pipeline route must be keep clear of trees to allow access to the pipeline at all times
  • Pipeline compressor and pig cleaning stations leak methane and are a source of noise pollution
  • It is common practice for HDD drilling underneath lakes and wetlands to result in HDD “mud” leaks.
