What Can I Do?

  1. POST A COMMENT ON THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD WEBSITE with concerns and/or opinions about Phase 1, which is under review now, and with concerns/opinions about Phase 2, which will be under review in the near future.   2. ATTEND YOUR NEXT SELECTBOARD MEETING AND/OR WRITE A LETTER/CALL YOUR SELECTBOARD CHAIR. State your concerns and/or opinions about the pipeline coming through your town. The selectboard needs to hear from the community.
  3. SIGN THE PETITION: By signing this petition you enable your selectboard to better represent you during any formal communications with VT Gas/Gaz Metro and the International Paper Company, NY. (Only sign if you wish to say “no” to the pipeline.)
  4. CONTACT WILLEM JEWETT willem.jewett@gmail.com, 802-388-4061, CLAIRE AYER cayer@leg.state.vt.us, 802-545-2142, CHRIS BRAY cbray@sover.net, 802-453-3444 and GOV SHUMLIN http://governor.vermont.gov/contact-us  802-828-3333, to voice your concerns and opinions.  ADAM LOUGEE alougee@acrpc.org is the chair of the Addison County Regional Planning Commission.   
  5.  CONTACT CHRIS RECCHIA, 802-828-4071, VT Department of Public Service Commissioner, to voice your concerns and opinions to the Addison Natural Gas Project.
  6. If you do not wish to host the pipeline, you should avoid signing any permission forms and say “no” to initial site or survey visits.  Do not sign any VT Gas related documents without speaking to a lawyer first.
  7. GET INVOLVED:  Join/support a local action group fighting the pipeline, such as the VT Citizens for the Public Good (www.vtcpg.org), Barbara Wilson, info@vtcpg.org, 802-897-5430.  VT Citizens for the Public Good is an alliance of many Vermont grassroots organizations who share a common bond in our opposition to the Addison County fracked gas pipeline proposed by Vermont Gas Systems.
